Picked up a Super Sprouter propagation kit last month and started a new batch of clones.
Pretty much the same technique Iâve been using –Â Start with a healthy tip.
Strip off all the leaves except the top two and snip most of those to reduce transpiration. Then make a clean 45 degree cut below the bottom node.

Dip the stem in rooting hormone. I prefer the gel type over the powdered ones, seems to stick better.

And then carefully push the stem into the growing medium. I used peat plugs that were soaked in water that was pHâed to around 5.5 and had a little SuperThrive added.
This year I kept them inside where the temperature stayed right around 80 degrees under the dome, and kept the light that came with the propagation kit on 24×7. Also made sure that the plugs stayed moist, but not sitting in water. Humidity mostly stayed in the 90âs.
They started sprouting roots right at three weeks.
Over the next few weeks Iâd move the ones with roots into small pots filled with perlite and Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil.
We’ve had torrential rain in South Florida and I lost a few to rot. Next time Iâll keep them covered until they get bigger. Probably end up with about half of what I started with.
Some of them are from my one year old West Kali seedlings (the two on the right)
And the rest are from my two year old Rifat thatâs just finishing up flowering.
Now comes the hard part, figuring out what to do with them.

How many seeds come with my order?
There are hundreds to thousands of kratom seeds per individual kratom seed pod. This is a important distinction as many new growers are confused and assume the entire pod is one seed. As a reference tool to show as it shows the different parts of kratom seed. How viable are the kratom seed pods?
Just like any other seed pod with a high number of seeds included in its pods. Kratom seed has a smaller viability rate. This is due to how the trees are grown in nature and the trees genetics. The idea is that more seed the more possible plants. Our seed pods get around 15 sprouts per 1/4 of a single seed pod at their most viable state.

If this is your first time growing from seed pods our team recommends you spend a few minuets to watch this educational video. These seed pods were planted in March 2019 â June 2019 kept outdoors in very hot and humid conditions while being covered in clear plastic wrap.
How do you collect Kratom Seed Pods?
Kratrom trees take many years to mature. Because of this they can be quite tall making them hard to reach and pick seed pods directly off a tree. A single kratom tree can grow to over two hundred feet tall. This particular tree below is 25 ft tall. It wasnât to quick before using a ladder alone would not be enough. We then cut the seed pods directly off the tree.
Our dedicated team have had to make choices on the most efficient and effective way to bring them down. A big factor that plays out over time is how we grow the trees. If we top our taller trees they will start to bush out more near the bottom. A good portion of the seed pod development happens at the top of a tree. We have built a Kratom Seed Pod collector as a solution. This collector is built our of PVC with a comb attached to the end. The pods then fall down to our collection bin at the end of the tubing.
How are kratom seed pod fertilized?
Kratom seed pods from the nursery are confirmed to have at least 60% fertilization. One can assess this by the projections (pods) erupting from the circular flower bulb. These continue to grow until they are mature. Once kratom seed pods are ready to release seed, the seed pod husk bursts open. Kratom seed are quite small and light. The seed will blow all over out of the kratom trees that start to grow once they are one the ground and the ground is moist.
Bees and other insects are attracted to the pungent sweet smell of the kratom seed pods as they develop on the kratom trees. For that reason bees rub themselves on the stems of the exposed seed pods as they travel around the seed pod collecting the pollen in their fur as they go. While they travel from kratom tree to kratom tree the collected pollen rubs off onto the other seed pods that the bees land on. As a result this fertilizes the kratom seed pods.
Are you able to hand fertilize seed pods?
On the other hand, each seed pods is to hand fertilize by staff. As well, a staff member will climb up on the ladder and grab what ever seed pods are close and rub them against each other. Turning them and spinning them in our hands to get the maximum effect. This ensures the viability of the seed pod.

How To Tell A Fertile Kratom Seed Pod?
Each seed pod have very distinct difference between a fertile seed pod and a inftertile pod. Fertile kratom seed pods will be plump in contrast to infertile pod that are smooth and round. For that reason, make sure to be careful if you want a full pod to stay intact as they break apart from the center very easily. Most notably, this video shows every stage of a kratom seed pod.
What do infertile kratom seed pods look like?
Lastly, a infertile seed pods are completely round and are very very tiny. They will almost look like a honeycomb in a ball. Infertile kratom seed pods are very soft and will roll around in the hand. In contrast, there is not much that can be done with these pods. Here is a short video to show you what they look like.
How do I sow kratom seed pods? What soil should I use?
Thankfully, kratom do not require any particular type of soil to grow. Your average potting soil will be fine. When you go to lay your seed, crush up the seed pods in your hand. The seed will break away easily. Sprinkle the seed on your container.

Best Method to Root Kratom Cuttings – Water Jug Method
Take your cutting and place it inside of a 1 gallon jug of rain or pond water. DO NOT USE regular store water or water from the tap.

Best Method to Root Kratom Cuttings – Water Jug Method
Rooting
Typically takes up to around 3 weeks for the cuttings to begin to root.
Watering
Add 1 gallon of rain or pond water to your gallon jug. DO NOT USE regular store water or water from the tap. There are chemicals that will kill the plants. Check your water levels once a week. Replace any water that has evaporated from the jug.
Cuttings
You can add as many cuttings to the gallon jug that will hold at the top. However we recommend only a few per gallon. As this will make it easier to inspect and remove your cuttings without damaging any roots on the other cuttings. Roots are quite fragile and will come off easily. If your cuttings do not touch the bottom on the gallon that is fine. You only need 1/3 of the cutting to be above water. Anywhere that the water touches, roots will develop over time.
Lighting Options
Artificial lighting methods allow for quicker rooting. However a South facing window will suffice.
Repotting
Once your cuttings establish roots, you will want to move them to a 3inch pot. Plant the entire pod and rootball in the new pot (potting soil works best). Here are some videos to help you.
Roots
While examining your cutting you will notice that anywhere the water is touching. Any wooded growth will turn into green new growth. After a while in the water it will develop white little bumps. These are roots. They will turn into little white worms. We recommend letting the roots gain a bit of length before placing them in soil.
Note from the grower
Your unrooted cuttings have already been cut back to the freshest node, and covered in rooting hormone.
While in the water jug. The leaf on the cuttings will look droopy. This is normal. This is due the water evaporating.
Peat Pod/ Soil Method (Other Method)
For best results inflate the zip lock bag and place it under a strong indirect light source. We get decent results just relying on a South facing window but see much better results under some sort of bright indirect light (LED, Fluro, HPS). The Kratom Bible is available here on the #kratomAPP

How high should the humidity be?
Lastly, we add the cutting to a plastic Zip Lock like bag or you can take them out and put them into a very large plastic container. Regardless of how you are rooting them you need to ensure that the plants are kept in high humidity at all times. Do not leave the cuttings out of the bag for more then 20 min at a time. These plants require 80 – 100% humidity at all times.

How often should I water unrooted kratom cuttings?
Customers should leave the plastic bag these cuttings come in sealed at all times they should not be releasing moisture. There should be no need to water these cuttings. In the event the soil medium begins to firm up it is advised to mist or pour a table spoon or two of water. The soil medium should always be moist to the touch at all times. Even one night of a dried up soil medium will kill a plant seeing as they are so young. You can also mist the cuttings with a water bottle.
Do I need rooting hormone?
You do not need rooting hormone for cuttings to root. We ship out every cutting with rooting hormone already applied. However if you are going to add rooting hormone we do recommend that you are sparing while applying. If you add to much hormone and cover the cutting it will make it hard for cuttings to produce roots thru the hormone.

Process Unrooted Kratom Cuttings – How to Guide – When we process our kratom cuttings we always follow the same process. First, we take the cutting off the tree and clean the nodes and extra leaf off of each cutting. It is important to note that kratom cuttings do not require leaf on the cutting to produce roots. In fact, having large leaf on a cutting can be a disadvantage as leaf requires larger water consumption from the cutting. This is why we cut our leaf into a triangle shape.

The next step requires adding rooting hormone. We have found that the best way to ensure rooting is to use a lot of rooting hormone. As much as possible. We strive to ensure that each cutting has the highest success rate possible. After adding rooting hormone the next step is to place the cutting in the soil medium. Wither it is peat pods, soil, or peet pods a good soil medium will be required to allow these plants to succeed. You can even grow these plants hydroponically, however we will be providing the rooting medium. How to store Fresh Kratom Leaf in Honey
I already have one more batch of honey on hand..lol The expensive honey is not necessary tho. I’m amazed at how well the leaves held up. I expected to find a bag of GOO resembling an ecoli party! I’ll keep you posted as the experiment continues. I already think this stuff will make a great gift IF I can think of how to get the honey lined up to arrive about the same time. But I have only had an hour or so to think on it. More later! đ
Left is while I’m still digging out one more leaf. The stems are not ALWAYS cooperative, but I was able to separate the leaves enough to keep the measurement of 3 leaves (various sized). Right photo is while I’m chewing the last leaf. While the edges of the leaves look brown/dead on some, they arrived that way! Finally upon closing the bag, I squeeze out the air very easily. Like how a clear screen cover on a phone. The bubbles are minimal and you just squeeze them out easily while zipping it back up. Swallowing almost complete at 3:40PM Pacific time. Keeping in mind that I JUST ATE, I already notice clarity as I’m typing. The leaves still taste nasty, but the chewing process is MUCH EASIER than regular live kratom leaves. I ate all veins except the middle stem, from halfway up the leaf up. Everything else is fully consumed in short order. I’m still chewing the last bits at 3:44PM! Not bad!
Here’s a better photo of the closed bag. The brown edges are part brown leaf edge but also honey. Thr shiny stuff is just reflection. This takes quite a lot of honey. So it’s not necessarily practical for shipping. Except it’s necessary! The honey is a brilliant way to make the chewing continue without a hitch. I think I used 12 oz of honey, maybe more. I am giggling about all of this but I do think more experimenting under different circumstances will be helpful. The good news is, I don’t need you to send more! I’ve got a LOT of leaf left to continue various tests!
I recommend turning the bag every day a couple of times if possible to keep the honey touching everything evenly, but it may not be necessary

A few extra were thrown in either accidentally or to make up for some smaller ones in the batch but regardless more than happy. As someone who eats / makes tea with approximately 5-10g per dose approximately 4-5 leaves chewed the traditional way (vein removed and tucked in cheek) has been enough to equal this. Taste is a lot better fresh too. This is what to expect as far as size.

I will give it a shot in the am. I’m well aware of the science behind it and the inhibition of the enzyme (cyp2d6) that breaks mytrag down, that same enzyme is used to break down a lot of different medications and it’s why so many different medicines warn against drinking gpfj prior to taking but I’ve never done it because I used to doubt it’s efficacy and gpfj isn’t the greatest thing (taste Wise) to me but I’ll definitely try it soon.
How much gpfj do you recommend? Honestly I’m not a fan of gpfj but I’ll try it and let you know. I do think I tried it once years back but didn’t put enough time between the medication and the gpfj. Regardless I’ll try it in the morning prior to my morning routine. Btw I’d guess my dose of leaves on average day will be approximately 10-15 leaves.
This is just a guess because today was not very average given I’m conserving because it got here so late. 2 definitely stops withdrawals which says a lot to me and 4 seems to be a decent dose for me as I’ve eaten 7 and don’t feel any different than I did with 4.

I really feel like I hit a ceiling with kratom where more is not helping. I’ll definitely let you know about the gpfj. Idk if that is just me or if it’s because of my tolerance to opioids but regardless I wish someone had told me about that wall earlier because it’s generally atypical with opioids. For me it’s a good thing because in my head it seems so much simpler to taper from 4 leaves 3x daily than 10 capsules-12 capsules 3x daily. Maybe that’s just me but all around I much prefer the fresh kratom to dried.

I think potency is close but drinking that much powdered kratom gets old and constantly doing the teas do too for me. I find it odd the little caveats with kratom where switching strain for some reduces tolerance. This is something I noticed myself accidentally. Didn’t consider it I just went for what had the highest 7-hm in lab tests not even considering other non isolated alkaloids. I really don’t know as much science behind kratom as I normally would with something like this because I know there’s more to it than just the known alkaloids.
Either by way of how they act or another non isolated alkaloid because kratom stops withdrawals where other stronger opioids do not. So for me I know something else is at play either due to a lack of understanding or other non isolated or not as well talked about alkaloids. I could be wrong and imagined all of it but I really don’t think so. I know myself well and when I took kratom I really didn’t have any faith in it working. It showed me.
At the end of the day kratom does what I want it to and it’s been nothing but beneficial for me. Outside of the fact I don’t have a tree in my backyard I think it’s a wonderful plant and you all are doing an awesome job providing fresh kratom in the us market. I’ll message you and do the review I’ve been jumping between texts and this app.
Trying Grape Fruit Juice
so I tried the gpfj and didn’t notice much of a difference tbh. I drank maybe 24oz an hour before taking 4 leaves then 3 more 45 minutes later. I’ve been reading about it and coincidentally kratom alone inhibits many of the enzymes that break mytrag and the other alkaloids down. Meaning kratom potentiates itself. In theory redosing say 2g every hour should be stronger than taking approx 18.5g at once over a 12hr period. This is taking into account the half life of kratoms alkaloids.
I’m also reading where people say the active alkaloids aren’t water soluble they’re fat soluble so (a big misconception is that insoluble means that it is totally insoluble and none is absorbed which is not true. Insoluble really means it is poorly soluble usually requiring more time and water+heat or/and an acid to bring it out) in theory adding butter (I know how that sounds) or anything high in fat should greatly increase the absorption.
I think adding an acid and melted butter prior to making tea (let it sit for 30 minutes) and then making tea normally should help to bring the alkaloids out. More is better here with the fat but drinking butter tea doesn’t sound good. I don’t think gpfj is useless but unlike with most opioids the effects will not be as pronounced in theory. It may increase duration sightly but I don’t think it will greatly impact effects overall. I also think making tea with a material as fine as possible is best as that allows more surface area to be impacted.

I’m going to give the above a shot and I’ll let you know. I tried a tea with whole leaves and was shocked at how light the color was. Totally different than shredded material. Definitely grind your leaves finely for the most material to be absorbed. Also given the poor water solubility of the alkaloids more water is better and in theory the longer the better as long as you can control heat. I’ve tried looking for people who take leaves and soak them for a day vs the 20-30 min tea times. I’d imagine with agitation the soak would pull more alkaloids out.
But that’s all just guessing. This whole post is really just theory but it’s sound theory if anyone has experience with any of the above please let me know. Looks horrible not gonna lie.
Added 1 3/4 cups of water at 1240 and placed on low heat
just pulled it off I let it simmer lightly for the full 20 minutes and it’s cooling now. Only difference in prep is that it’s harder to cool with the butter. I don’t really know how much a full boil effects it so I’m doing my best to keep it at a simmer. It’ll be another 30 minutes before I try it I’m thinking. Will post more pics here shortly.
